Our season ended in dismal fashion as Dale Park limped to a 2-0 defeat against closest rivals Barton Juniors in perhaps the worst game between the two teams since the rivalry started. Park produced a display just as bad as the previous week, but in truth Barton hardly played like Brazil and could only muster a few chances and score two soft goals. One, a penalty should never have been given in the first place but Dale Park's luck hasn't been great over the past few weeks. Overall a dreadful game but the win for Barton perhaps secures second place for them. As for Dale Park, looking at the season as a whole it has been a step in the right direction and the disappointment at finishing 5th or 6th place shows how far we have come as a team since we were unfairly relegated at under 13 level. For all this seasons roller coaster has brought to the team, it has ended on a sour note after three awful defeats and three even worse performances. The teams attitude and lack of creativity has been evident since the superb display against Bottesford. Had we drawn or won (as we deserved too) on that night we possibly could have finished 2nd or 3rd and would have shaken up Bottesford slightly. The harsh reality though, is that Isle United or Trent Valley in League 2 have as much chance as catching Bottesford as we do currently. Some of this seasons performances though , against Crosby Wasps on the opening day or both Epworth games have shown we can challenge, but improvement and change is needed over the summer. Lets hope we will back even better next season.

Dads v Lads is now set to be played May 16th and more news will be given on presentation night.

Dale Park V Barton Juniors(Preview) The Final Game Of The League Season
Tomorrow we hope to put on a good Friday night finale as Dale Park host closest rivals Barton Juniors. As for the league second looks unlikely for us now but a win could secure at least 5Th in the final table. Barton are likely to overtake us anyway regardless of tomorrow's result after they beat Messingham 4-0. We would like to forget tables and points though for a while this game is more about pride and finishing the eventful 09/10 season that has seen us go from relegation fighters to top four contenders. This game does matter. Unfortunatly as the season draws to a close Tate (injury) and Reeder could both miss out on the final game. Wingate looks set to drop into the back four. Clixby and Merrill are vying for the final place in the team.
Ko is 6pm at Dale Park.
Ps: Park Tigers have been removed from the websites table however at this stage in the season teams should be able to keep the points
We will keep them in our table for now.
Interview with Ash Fnney (gk)
Q1: would you agree that the season has being a step in the right direction for the team?
Yes,it has been good to actually stay up in our first year back in division 1
Q2: Who do you think has being the suprise star of the season, at the start you said you thoughtit would be Artour Johnstone?
Matty Harvey, he has put some decent performances over the past two months.
Q3: Who do you think will end the season top scorer? current standings (Clark[10], Rhodes[9], Wingate[8])
I think Lewis Clark will finish this season as top goal scorer.
Q4: Tate and Reeder may both miss tomorrow but they have both have good seasons how would you rate there performances?
Tate = Good for his first real football club.
Reeder = Really good for the season.
Q5: Should we be aiming to win the Messingham tournament, presuming we are entered?
Yes, no reason why we should not, we are really good in tournaments, so why not.
Q6: So how would you rate this season , and can we win tommorow despite the injuries?
Well this season has been a tale of two halves, 1st half we were supreme and 2nd half of the season we was just above average, and i do think we can win tommorow, if we put a decent performance in like the 1st half against Bottersford.
Q7? Lastly who do you think will win the four awards at the presentation night?
Managers Player Of The Year - Jack Rhodes
Most Man Of The Matches - Matty Harvey
Most Improved - Matty Harvey

Dale Park 1-6 Bottesford
Our worst result and performance as a team and individuals maybe ended hopes of a top three or four finish. Despite starting lively and keeping possession well the league champions gave us a harsh wake-up call to how far the team has to improve to challenge with them. Park failed to score in the previous home game against Messingham, but did in the game against the table toppers by a Ryan Reeder header, although by that time Bottesford had scored twice themselves through Jones and Pell. Hoping for a display that could rival our excellent one at Bottesford earlier in the season, Dale Park were still in with a chance of at least a point. However some lucky goals in quick sucession in the half put us 5-1 down. Then into the final minute Reeder was unlucky in giving away a penalty which Jones converted for his hat-trick.
An unfair final score but also a reminder that the league champions have not only overtaken Barton but also are now miles ahead of the rest of the cup contenders.
Speaking of local rivals Barton we face them in our final league game of the season this friday at Dale Park.
DP Team : Finney, Tate, Spencer(C), Lacey-Hatton, Reeder, Wingate, Harvey, Rhodes, Johnstone(Merrill), Brown(Durnian), Clark.
