Messingham Tournament Preview

Sunday we enter the Messingham tournament a trophy we won in 07 and reached the final in 08. After last years disappointing final we now have a chance to regain the cup sunday. Although Rhodes has not been allowed to play because of rules and regulations, Finney will despite injury worries, full interview with Finney Saturday. We expect 2 Messingham teams and last years champions Crosby to be there apart from then we are unsure about the other teams but think along the lines of Gunness Wasps and Bottesford.

Summer News

After a great 2009 year so far, we go into next season looking for new players and a fresh start. 08/09 was a superb season with promotion and a great cup final win and now will be the time to build towards the new season.summer dates below as are the cup winners from all around the league which i thought i should mention. Thanks for everyone who turned out at presentation night, winners have been added to roll of honour. The messingham tournament 6-a-side team will be announced a week today. We also hope to play in brigg tournament and host our home one. As for 09/10 with league1 football back dale park blog is looking in to the options of posting match highlights for all the crucial games.Finally we are proud to announce that Winny captain Jack Rhodes has started training and may even feature at Messingham! Hopefully more news soon.

Dale Park History

The 2003/04 season was the first for a new Dale Park team in Winterton at the under 9s level managed by Reg Spencer.Starting in the 3rd division the club rose up quickly and were promoted in there first year.To cap that brilliant first season Dale Park won there first ever one-day tournament at Epworth, beating Riddings in the final 4-2 with goals coming from Lewis Clark[2],Ell brown and captain,Kieren Spencer.knowing the second season would be tougher Reg brought in new players like Jack Clixby and Andy Parker.Despite having a more difficult year than the first Dale Park finished 5th which, because the club was going to turn 11-a-side the next year earned them another promotion.Once again new players had to be brought in like Lewis Chand,Connor Voulgaris and Charlie Garnett, and once again it was another tough year but Dale Park pulled through to stay up.The following season another new face turned up when Ryan Reeder signed from eventual champions Brigg Town,the Dale stayed up again.since turning 11-a-side some great games have being played including the 5-4 victory over Valley Park rangers in which star player Lewis Clark turned the game around scoring all 5 of Dales goals. Success returned with a bang in the summer of 2007 when Dale Park won all 3 of the the tournaments they entered at Messingham,Winterton and Brigg Town.They truly are the kings of seven-a-side.They also now aim to repeat this success in division 1 of the Jack Kalson league, and with new signings such as Kris Collins,Issac Bird,Louis Baggers and Peter Lond we were expected to do well. Unfortunately after a poor start to the season and despite a good finish to the year,the league controversially took us down despite finish 9 points clear of the team below.However a fresh start is what we needed and after a easy promotion we once again find ourselves in the top flight and with only 10 teams in this time we have got hope of staying up and challenging for the title, especially with new signings Jack Rhodes and Nick Wingate. The side since won the first five games of the new season and despite the second half of the season taling off, we finished 6th and held on to a place in League 1. After re-signing Ryan Ingham and Kris Collins and signing Andy Dawson from rivals Barton Juniors Dale Park finished third in there final season under Reg Spencer, gaining fantastic results in the process, beating Bottesford 3-1 away, and thrashing Gainsborough 8-2.
