Dale Park Tournament 2010 Review

Brigg Town walked away from Winterton with the Dale Park Tournament Trophy for the second year in the row. They beat Crosby Wasps 1-0 in the final after both Dale Park teams were knocked out in the semi-final. Dale Park Colts earlier in the day won the group while the Dale Park Boys finished 3rd meaning they met Brigg in the semi, while Colts faced Crosby. Earlier in the day the two Dale Parks met in the group stage and despite an entertaining game, the match finished goalless. Crosby ended the Colts run in the semi-final winning 1-0 after extra time with one of the last kicks of the game. Eventual winners Brigg beat the Greens in the other semi also 1-0. We start our season proper next week with a tough looking trip to Messingham. Summer signing Kris Collins will miss the first two games and Ash Finney could also miss the first home game against App Frod Juniors. However optimism is still high ahead of the season opener, a full preview will follow.
