Bottesford Town 1-3 Dale Park

Bottesford Towns unbeaten home run is over. Dale Park became the first side to win at Birch Park in nearly two seasons after producing a simply astounding performance to win 3-1 with Goals coming from new signing Kris Collins, Lewis Clark and Jack Rhodes. However on a wet Sunday in Bottesford things could not have started worst as we learnt only at the last minute that Ryan Reeder, Connor Durnian, and Artour Johnstone all were not available. Despite this however Jordan Merrill came in to start at right back and looked solid early on. However Bottesford started the better and rattled the woodwork with the game only a couple of minutes old. Botty then took the lead ironically from a corner which for most of the afternoon Dale Park defended brilliantly. If one thing is certain with this team its that they never gave up and after creating some good chances finally got the deserved equalizer through Kristian Collins in his first game since rejoining. Lacey-Hatton then found Rhodes with a long ball and the lone striker nearly scored after getting in between the defenders. Clark also went close and Dale Park went into the break much the better side, with Collins and Ingham not allowing Bottesford any space. Although in the second half a lot of pressure had to be withstanded Park made some fantastic clearances and last ditch tackles, with Merrill slotting neatly into a solid back four and keeper. It was always going to take something special to win and as he has done before Lewis Clark became the hero with a superbly taken goal after going past two Bottesford players. After some more superb defending Dale Park hit Bottesford on the counter attack again Ash Finney's long goal kick found Rhodes who slotted calmly past Bottesfords keeper. Dale Park won in the end comfortably. This win shows how far the team has come since Bottesford beat us 6-1 at our place only a few months ago. Maybe, just maybe this is our year.
