Dreams of a fairytale end to Dale Park's season were crushed by a ruthless Bottesford at a sunny Birch Park on Sunday afternoon. Park started the better and pressed Bottesford high up the pitch in the opening minutes and Kris Collins and Jack Rhodes forced decent saves out of the keeper. At the back Jack Lacey-Hatton and Andy Dawson looked strong but Ash Finney was still forced to make a good save from Callum Pell as Bottesford began to put the pressure on. Right on half time came the killer opening goal when Kyle Jones raced away from the Dale Park defence as appeals for offside never came to anything. Dawson and Lacey-Hatton nearly got back but Jones kept his cool and slot home the opener. After the half time break we looked a broken team Bottesford nearly made it two to nil but Lacey-Hatton cleared a cross when it was close to Finney's goal, but moments later Pell did make it two after bundling the ball in from close range. Moments later Bottesford had three nil after scoring from a clear run on goal. Kris Collins gave us a small consolation after chipping the keeper. Bottesford added a fourth late on to end this generation of Dale Park as a team, and secure a place in the final of the Div Cup.
We will keep you posted on Dads V Lads and Presentation Night
However that is it for this season , cheers lads.
