App Frod Juniors 2-6 Dale Park

Dale Park eased to another three points after destroying an App-Frod team we had already beat 8-3 at home this season. Despite a muddy and slippery pitch, Park played some attractive quick football creating some good chances in the opening fifteen minutes. The breakthrough came when Collins took a free kick quickly, moving the ball towards Rhodes who smartly let the ball run on through for Clark to smash past the keeper. Collins then made it two, and Wingate scored not long after for 3-0. Juniors did get a goal back when Dawson conceded a controversial penalty and Lingard scored to get Juniors of the mark. Park started the second half just as strong and Clark soon had his first hat-trick of the season after first getting on the end of Wingates cross and then curling his own free kick into the top corner. Juniors got a second after a superb individual run, which included the Juniors player going round Finney, before finding the back of the net. Dale Park had six after a flowing move was finished off with a goal from M.O.M Collins. The full time whistle came not to long after and Park stayed third in the league.

App Frod Juniors V Dale Park

We make our second trip of the season to App-Frod to face a Juniors side we beat 8-3 in a thrilling game at a wet Newport Drive Park earlier this season. All of our squad our expected to be available something which has only happened once before this season and the first time it has happened for a league game. Reg Spencer is expected to recall both Dawson and Rhodes to the starting eleven after missing out at Scotter. App-Frod Juniors did get a point against a Saints team who beat us 2-0 so they will have to be respected but defeat could send them bottom of the table. On the other hand we need a win to stay in the title race. KO is 12 at App-Frod Brumby Hall.

Scotter Juniors 0-7 Dale Park

Dale Park are safely through to the next round of the Darby Cup after a convincing but at times frustrating 7-0 win against Scotter. Connor Durnian scored two early goals meaning Park were never truly in trouble, the first was a quality finish punishing the hosts after they failed to clear a corner kick. Despite being denied a third goal for a decent part of the match, Park all but ended the tie when Collins scored after a good cross from Wingate. The second half was much of a stroll for us as Rhodes, brought on as a sub, scored two well taken goals after good passing football. Clark then won and converted in penalty in smart fashion to put us six goals up with only minutes remaining. Clark then nearly scored another after a overhead kick just went over and Wingate also nearly extended his scoring run after firing across goal the ball stayed out. The final goal came in bizarre fashion as a Scotter defender smashed the ball into the net, giving the keeper no chance. We now meet either Gainsborough or Inter Priory in round two. No game is yet arranged for next week but this may change.

Scotter Juniors V Dale Park (Darby Cup Round One)

We make only our second trip to Scotter on Sunday to face a side currently second in League Two. Last time we visited was also a League Two game in which we lost 2-0. The winner of the tie will face either Inter Priory or Gainsborough, who we controversially lost to last week in the league. Although we may be strong favourites for the cup tie, it is doubtful that players will be rested, due to fact that this year the cup does seem like a genuine chance of a trophy. All of our players are available. As for news from last weeks game unfortunately we believe the referee has reported Dale Park to the League organization. We at the blog feel this is unfair and hope that we as a club stand up for Dale Park and clear the teams name from any wrong doing. Hopefully a good cup win will take our minds of it. KO is 10am.

Gainsborough 5-4 Dale Park

Dale Park were given our very own Halloween horror story on Sunday as we lost our second game this season in a controversial manner. Our day started well, and despite some aggressive tackling from our opponents we took an early two goal lead. Nick Wingate's left-foot cracker put us in front, and Dale Park then taught their opponents a lesson in how the game should be played, when a sweeping passing move, started by Rhodes and Clark, gave Wingate his second of the day that put him to the top of the goalscorers chart. Park continued to pass Trinity off the park, but a lucky route one goal got Boro back in the game, before a game changing incident midway through the first half. A debatable free kick was awarded to Trinity after a battle for possession between Kris Collins and Trinitys number eight. However while play had stopped keeper Ash Finney went to pick up the ball with no danger around, but Gainsboroughs striker charged in on the keeper and lunged in two footed, in a potentially dangerous tackle. Finney played on, but Gainsborough equalized after the blasted free kick found its way in. They then shockingly took the lead after Park failed to close down a midfielder, who found the top corner with a quality volley. The second half began and it somehow got even worse after a lucky bounce managed to help the ball find the goal to give Boro a two goal lead, Trinitys fifth goal was well taken after a good run, Dale Park could barely believe their luck, that despite dominating the game we were three goals down. Cue an inspirational fightback that unfortunately didn't get Park the points they deserved. First Lacey-Hatton's volley found the roof of the net after a brilliant delivery from Rhodes' corner. Clark then latched on the end of a long ball and superbly lobbed the keeper to bring us within one goal of a draw. Despite late chances we could not find the equalizer that would have brought a sense of justice, due to the almost constant flying tackles directed at our players. Towards the end of the game especially, the tackling and time wasting of our opponents was shockingly obvious, disgraceful and at times quite disgusting. The referee blew the full time whistle on a game in which, when the dust settled four of our players (Harvey, Ingham, Collins and Lacey-Hatton) were yellow carded. That may say something about the spirit of the game considering, we have only ever received three yellow cards before in our history (two of which were rescinded). However we will not dwell on the unusual high amount of bookings or passion from both touchlines, as we would like to report on the match. Hopefully the aggressive, thuggish and route one tactics used by our opponents will eventually die once and for all, as we would like to remind them that football, in our opinion, should be played on the ground. As Brian Clough once said "if god wanted us to play football in sky he would have put grass there". Next week we face Scotter Juniors in the David Darby Cup. We are still third in the table.
