Match Report vs Crosby United

Unlucky we lost to a fighting Crosby side at Foxhills today on a icy pitch 3-2. Crosby did start more attacking and took a 1-0 lead after Jack Clixby had headed off the line. Crosby scored a second after a fluid counter attack although there was believed to have been a foul in the build up. The start of the second half was not much better as Crosby sliced through midfield and defense again to go 3 up. However one thing about Dale is we never gave up and after good build up from Pete Lond and Lewis Clark, Durnian slotted home cooley. Unfortunately Lond on return to action went of through injury after a heavy tackle. Clark then got another goal to set up a grandstand finish but Dale just couldn't get the final chance needed. Crosby somehow held on to get a lucky victory, but not without controversy as the referee who was not timekeeping blew at least 4 minutes plus injury time than he perhaps should of. This along with pitch meant that perhaps we were not going to get the luck that they had. The result puts Crosby top by 6 points but we still have a game in hand and next week they play Brigg Colts who beat them earlier in the season.
