News And Crowle Preview

First of merry Xmas from everybody at the blog. We lost 4-0 to Bottesford in the cup, but the game was always going to be hard with 10 players turning up, something that we dont want to become regular at the club. It was an unlucky day due to injuries for Lond,Voulgaris,Baggers and Spencer.
We play Crowle at home on sunday as we look to keep ahead in the promotion chase. We do realize that it is a Christmas fixture and it could be hard to field a full strength team. All though Baggers, Voulgaris and maybe Lond could all return Finney is likely to miss.

Match Report vs Crosby United

Unlucky we lost to a fighting Crosby side at Foxhills today on a icy pitch 3-2. Crosby did start more attacking and took a 1-0 lead after Jack Clixby had headed off the line. Crosby scored a second after a fluid counter attack although there was believed to have been a foul in the build up. The start of the second half was not much better as Crosby sliced through midfield and defense again to go 3 up. However one thing about Dale is we never gave up and after good build up from Pete Lond and Lewis Clark, Durnian slotted home cooley. Unfortunately Lond on return to action went of through injury after a heavy tackle. Clark then got another goal to set up a grandstand finish but Dale just couldn't get the final chance needed. Crosby somehow held on to get a lucky victory, but not without controversy as the referee who was not timekeeping blew at least 4 minutes plus injury time than he perhaps should of. This along with pitch meant that perhaps we were not going to get the luck that they had. The result puts Crosby top by 6 points but we still have a game in hand and next week they play Brigg Colts who beat them earlier in the season.

Match Preview vs Crosby United

On Sunday we have our biggest match of the season when we play Crosby United away from home at Foxhills.Spencer is expected to play after we first thought he could miss the match. Crosby moved 3 points ahead of us last week with a 6-1 victory over Trent Valley. A full squad is expected from both teams. This Sunday may be what the title is hanging on. Dale will be less match fit as we have not played a game since the 3-0 win over Optis in the cup. We will have a game in hand after Sunday but it will put us 6 points behind Crosby. A win for us will put us level on points with them edging it on gd. This match really does matter.

Match Report vs Optis Fc

We beat Optis un13 3-0 on Sunday.Lewis Clark opened the scoring with a contender for goal of the season with a belter from 30 yards. Although Optis had more chances in the second half Dale defended brilliantly and when Baggers came on and scored a belter the game was done. Late on Durnian added a superb volley with his first goal in this cup. The result moves us into the second round.

Match Report vs Isle United

Sunday 9th November we aimed to keep our 100% away record in tact. Despite the day starting badly with Connor Voulgaris not making the match because of a flat tyre we made an impressive start with Elliott Brown getting us off the mark with a glancing header. Durnian then completed a hat-trick in the space of 10 minutes. Just before half time Clark rifled in a volley from the edge of the box, a contender for goal of the season. Isle United set up the barricades in the second half and we only managed to score another 3, 2 from Durnian and 1 from Harvey to complete the goal fest. Isle United kept their heads up which resulted in a goal from them scored on a swift counter attack.

A special thanks to Isle United for their hospitality in the pub afterwards. The result keeps the pressure on Crosby United at the top of the table.

Match Report vs Trent Valley

Last Sunday we met Trent Valley for the first time in our history with a makeshift squad. With Finney and Brown missing Clixby went in net while new boy Ryan was aloud to start up front with Durnian. We made the perfect start when Con fired home after good midfield build up.However it didn't last long when Trent valley equalized almost immediately. And the home side then scored after a controversial penalty was given from what looked like a dive.with Dale unable to get out of the own half to the wind and a incredible bounce on the ball a third was scored for the home team.Despite starting the second half well a lucky goal after the ball swerved in the air.But we never gave up and Clark who despite having a shot somehow cleared of the line scored a 40 yard volley minutes later. Then New signing Ryan Ingham scored a great goal from a lovely move.the introduction of Mezza also helped us push on in a heated match.Manager Reg Spencer then changed it to 3-5-2 and with that move Spencer was given more space and scored two similar brilliant lobbed goals in the final 2 minutes to complete a amazing comeback 5-4!Ryan Reeder was named man of the match, this win could mark a turning point and hopefully pushes us towards promotion.

12 October 2008

Match report vs Brigg Colts

We went to table topping Brigg today knowing a win would put us top.We got off to a flying start when Ell Brown slotted home Cooley after great build up play. Our lead doubled on 10 minutes when Jack Clixby fired in after Brigg failed to clear a corner. They got back in it after scoring when Ash Finney made a great 1 on 1 stop. However our 2 goal lead was restored when, after a goal mouth scramble Pete Lond slid in on the line to get his 2nd of the season. They scored again when Danny Harding curled in a free kick. The second half completed a comfortable victory when Clark whipped in a free kick for 4-2 Brown then scored again and after more good build up by Lacey and Clark, Durnian slotted in his 9th of the campaign.Brown then completed his hat trick after shooting well from a tight angle.Another great away victory!

Update from Crowle match

Last week we beat Crowle Colts 13-0 with Durnian[4],Clark,Lacey-Hatton,Reeder[2],Harvey[2],Spencer[2] and Lond all getting goals.
Finney in our net never looked like being fully tested as we continue our surge up the table.
also Jamie Kendall may sign on for this season completing our whole 15 man squad.

Match report vs Crosby United

The side we played on sunday were G a C from last year and knowing they would be are main title challengers we were quick out of the blocks with Ell firing just over in the 1st minute.Despite starting better we quickly faded and Crosby took the lead after a pacey move. The Second half started much better for Dale with Connor Durnian and Lewi Clark both going close. But it was Clark who made the difference, winning a penalty and then picking himself up and smashing it home.We continued to press Clixby hitting the post.New signing Mezza was brought on and the end but failed to make much impact.Unfortunately, despite controlling the match Crosby nicked it late on after a lucky break.A disappointing result but a very good performance and a decent performance.Better news, on the singings front a new player Ryan from Riddings could be joining us this season.

Final Relagation News

We are sad to announce that apparently we have been relegated after the league decided that the bottom 3 at the end of season table go down.We consider this decision a farce and unfair as we were not in the bottom 3: they were Lss Barton,Gunness and Crosby and Riddings. However as,Riddings have folded a month after they completed their fixtures, this seems a shocking and unreasonable decision. It moved us down a place therefore relegating us.We at this website would like to appeal against this wrong decision.WE HOPE THIS CAN BE CHALLENGED!!!!!!!!!

5 July 2008

Squad Update

We are disappointed to announce that defender Kris Collins has decided not to stay another season and has transfered to Barton Juniors. However all other players from last year have decided to stay for 08/09.As signings go former player Ryan Reeder has made contact with the club but is still been pondered whether he will rejoin. Also 2 players from the folded Riddings may now be joining for next season meaning we potentially could have 15 players altogether next year.

Messingham Tournament

Another brilliant performance from the boys this week at Messingham this time with no winners medal, but still a runner up one in a difficult tournament. In the end after surviving the group stage and a grueling semi-final we just came up a short in the final following a 2-1 defeat in extra time to Gunness and Crosby.Still a great effort. There may be more tournaments this summer with our home one in September and a Bottesford one in August. The Brigg tournament is in July but we may not be invited to Brigg after a 'controversial' win last year.Still no news on relegation issue.

Messingham Tournament Preview

Tomorrow we defend our title at Messingham after winning there in 2007.Lewis Clark got the winner in the final that day and we'll be hoping for a repeat performance on Sunday. It is unknown who is in our group but our day could start as early as 10AM.The tournament has previously included teams such as Park Tigers,Brigg and Epworth and it is believed these teams will appear again. After a good end to the season this a rally to the troops, this is a tournament, this matters.

Update

just an update this week. Thanks to all Dads and managers who took part in Lads and Dads.just for the record, the dads won 5-3.Also a big thanks to coach Rob Spencer who will be leaving this week after years of help for the club.As for a table update Barton Juniors officially won the title a couple of days later than planed after beating Valley Park 3-2,with Brigg having only 1 game left the title is heading to Barton.they complete there league fixtures against Gunness next sunday[the Epworth match may not be rearranged after it was controversially canceled last week,if this happens the points will be split giving Epworth 3rd place]Barton can complete the double if they beat Valley Park in the cup final next Thursday, kick off 8pm at Barton old boys ground. As for relegation issues it is unknown who will go down with Lss after rumors started that Riddings, who just stayed up by 2 points may have folded, this means Gunness and Crosby who finished in the bottom 2 may stay up after all but a decision has yet to be confirmed.check the table for the info.
training is usual time this Thursday.
thanks again for 07/08!

End of the league season

Just to say a big thank you for contributers to the this site and to roll on 08/09!Its been a mixed season for the boys but decent finish in our last 4 games has shown we can compete with the best in the league. If we had been offered 9th place at the start of the season im sure we would have taken it.Not to mention we were 9 points clear of Riddings[10th].And with new faces settling in such as Lond,Collins,Bird and Baggs hopefully this year has been a transitional period the aim now is to improve next year and get back to the top!By the way the title race between Brigg and Barton has gone down to the wire but Barton need only a point from 3 games against Epworth,Valley or Gunness to win the league we'll give you all the updates on that. Stay with this website all summer for updates, new signings, training dates, tournament dates and much more.As a fitting end to the season the traditional Dads vs lads game is 11 o'clock kick off Sunday.A full match preview will follow soon.thanks again and up the BARMY ARMY!!!

Match review vs Park Tigers

Our last game of the season was a home match against Park Tigers who controversially took the lead early in the first half despite a suspicion of offside after Dale had early chances through Durnian and Lacey-Hatton.Dale deservingly equalized 10 mins later after a great run and shot by Baggers. The second half began well for us through Lewi Clark after a great ball by Durnian.however luck again went against the Dale soon after the restart through a fluky free kick.At that point we looked beaten with Tigers gaining control of the match and it took a header off the line from Lacey and a fingertip save from Finney to keep Tigers out.But almost immediately after we scored again after superb play from Collins and Clark followed by a ice-cool finish by Kris.Nervous times followed but the Dale superbly hang on for a vital victory.

Match report vs Lss Barton

Although we may have expected to pick up a win on Thursday at home to the leagues bottom club, few could have predicted the style in which Dale Park crushed Lss[New Holland].Ell Brown returned to the squad after missing the App Frod Defeat. He started as our only sub as Issac Bird missed Thursdays game.although the opening 10 minutes were tight including a superb Finney save a nil-nil we got our opener when Kris Collins rose to head home from Lewis' corner.Collins then scored another header and then set up Clark himself for a 3rd, and Clark got another to make it 4 before half time.in the second half Clark finished with 4 and Collins completed his hat trick.Lss then got a consolation after finishing past Ash Finney. But it was Dale who had the last of the goals with Connor Durnian and Ell Brown getting braces, including a brilliant header in off the bar, to make the final score 11-1 Dale Park.

Baggers also put in a superb first half display and at half time we lead 1-0.The second half was the turning point and despite a Lewi Clark equalizer we still lost 4-2.

Match report vs Epworth

Knowing that a win today would secure safety from relegation, the Dale were looking for a first win in 2008. Revenge was also on are minds as it was only a week a go Epworth beat us 4-2 in a controversial game at winterton. Reg Spencer made one change as Voulgaris was injured so Jack Clixby came in with Keiron Spencer shifting to left back. Although Epworth came out attacking it was Dale who made the first goal with Connor Durnian holding the ball up a flicking it on to Ell Brown who, sensationally volleyed from 25 yards to give us a 1-0 lead. However it didn't last for long with Epworth equalizing five minutes from half time after Dale Park Failed to clear a corner. The thunderous shot beating Finney in goal. The second half had few chances with Epworth trying to seal the points. However it was the Winterton side who had the best chance when Connor Durnian hit his shot straight at the goalie after a lovely assist by Jack Lacey. But it was Durnian who made amends by scoring a open goal after a howler by the Epworth goalie.despite late pressure Epworth did not find the net and Dale Park hang on to win.

Riddings Juniors U13-07/08 18 4 2 12 14

Dale Park U13-07/08 17 4 1 12 13

Gunness & Crosby U13-07/08 21 4 0 17 12

LSS Barton U13-07/08 18 1 1 16 4
as you see we are only one point clear of Gunness and Crosby and the relegation zone, but Gunness have only 1 more match remaining this season that they must win[against Park Tigers].evan if they win that we must still lose all are remaining 5 matches for us to go down.
And those games include home to bottom club LSS.Gunness will be relegated, whatever the other teams do, if they lose to Park Tigers.Riddings could still be relegated but like Dale Park, Gunness and Dale must win a match and then they don't pick up anymore points.
hope that clears things up a bit.
just remember the battle is only on if Gunness beat Park tigers, if not were safe.

Match report vs Riddings

Once again Dale Park dropped vital home points, this time against Riddings.Despite the performance improving the important result wasn't there leaving for another frustrating weekend for the Dale.despite starting brightly Ell Brown missed a glorious chance hitting the bar from close range. It took until about half half way through the first half for the opening goal from Lewis Clark after good work out wide from Matty Harvey.Jack Clixby then went of with an injury and, the score remained 1-0 at half time. The second half was always going to be tougher with very difficult conditions in the second half but it took until the last 10 minutes for Riddings to equalize.Lewis Clark blew 2 good chances late on but Riddings hang on for a point.Dale Park are still 9th but moving away from the relegation zone.

Match report vs Gunness and Crosby

Sunday was another disappointing defeat for Dale Park as they lost 5-3 to a totally different Gunness and Crosby than the one we played earlier in the season at foxhills.Despite dominating early on Gunness quickly went into a 2-goal early lead and, lead at half time 3-1 evan after a Connor Durnian goal at the end of the half. The second half was not much better with Gunness scoring 2 early goals to go 5-1 up front.Despite another late comeback with goals from Lewis Clark and Connor Durnian again the Dale still lost.Although we are still outside the relegation zone the next 2 home games however, against LSS Barton and Riddings are must win.
Dale Park line up:Finney,Lacey-Hatton,Collins,Spencer,Harvey,Voulgaris,Clixby,Clark,Baggers,Durnian,Brown.
Scores:Durnian[2],Clark.

Match Report: vs Epworth Town[A] 1st round of Bricton cup

Dale Park were arguably on the wrong end of some bad refereeing decisions but, beaten by a lucky
Epworth team 3-2.Despite the first half been close the score was nil-nil at half time with Jack Lacey-Hatton and Matty Harvey having the best of the first half chances.Epworth had a few chances but Ash Finney was never that tested in the Dale Park goal. The Second half began at quicker pace with Epworth taking the lead 10 minutes into the second half and doubling there lead 5 minutes later.
There was then an amazing Dale comeback with Elliott Brown scoring midway through the second half after good work from Connor Durnian.A little later a contender from Lewis Clark for a goal of the season.Lewis curling free kick beat the wall, the goalie and 2 defenders on the line!Epworth won the game with a late goal which could have being offside after Ash Finney tipped the ball on to the crossbar but with Epworths forward steaming in for the rebound.Epworth could have scored again later on when they missed a penalty after a foul by Kris Collins. They then hang on to win .
The Dale return to league action later on this week when they host the side 1 place below them Gunness and Crosby.
Dale Park lineup:
Finney, Spencer, Lacey-Hatton, Collins, Voulgaris, Lond,Baggers, Clark,Harvey, Brown,Durnian. sub:Clixby
