The away game against Bottesford has being called off due to a snow covered pitch. Although staff at Bottesford town FC tried to clear the pitch their efforts were in vain.

Title Race Update

Last Sunday a potential turning point in this years title race occurred when Epworth scored a late winner to beat Bottesford 3-2 at home, and gave hope to the chasing pack.
This means we still have to beat them home and away as well as winning our other 3 remaining games. If we do that the title could be ours. This Sunday we play Bottesford away, but Clark could miss out, more team news nearer the game.

Ps - Table has being updated.

Dale Park 4-1 Brigg Town Juniors

Dale Park returned to their brilliant best by destroying the well organised defence of Brigg four times, with goals coming from Lewis Clark(2), Nick Wingate and a first goal of the season from Jordan Merrill. Brigg started well and their striker forced a good save from Ash Finney. Park though soon got into their stride after Nick Wingate and Jack Rhodes shot just over, Lewis Clark gave us the lead with his eighth goal of the season after a miss-kick by a Brigg defender. Clark doubled Dale's lead when he got on the end of more sloppy Brigg defending after a Wingate cannon throw. Brigg had a huge chance before half time after Finney tipped a cross-shot into Blendall who blazed over, with Lacey-Hatton and Spencer covering the goal line. Briggs usually solid defence had being rocked, but they tightened up more in second half and threatened more themselves when Will Watson fired just over the bar. However we still had the zebras goal under threat, and got our third when Finney's long route one ball was helped towards Wingate who scuffed the ball onto the ground and into the net. Brigg piled on the pressure and got an almost inevitable goal when Neil Jacklin fired home from close range after good buildup. However arguably the best goal of the day was still to come, when Jordan Merrill, on as a sub, picked up the ball midway inside the Brigg half, skinned one player, before firing past the stretching keeper and also avoided being tackled by an oncoming Brigg defender. The celebrations that followed were amazing as Merrill then performed some robotic worm dance moves to show his delight at scoring his second ever goal for Dale Park. The full time whistle was not far off, and Merrill picked up man of the match. A superb display to keep alive our feint title hopes.

Team Sheet: Finney, Clixby, Spencer(C), Lacey-Hatton, Reeder, Harvey, Johnstone, Wingate(1), Rhodes, Clark(2), Durnian (Merrill(1)).

Offical Man Of The Match: Jordan Merrill.
(scored a vital goal, when Brigg were in control of the game, to kill of the comeback)

Blogger Man Of The Match: Keiren Spencer
( Showed why he is skipper with constant battling down the left and supported Jack Rhodes well with attacking flair )

Dale Park V Brigg Town

Tomorrow Brigg make their first trip to Winterton since winning our own summer tournament last September. After our Barton game was postponed last week the pitch is expected to be playable with no more ice or snow expected. We last met Brigg in November when despite taking the lead they scored four second half goals in the space of fifteen minutes to hand us our second league defeat of the season. We have no new injuries so a full squad of fourteen is expected to be seen. In other news the Winterton School team have being drawn away to Vale in the quarter-finals of the schools champions league. A friendly against St.Lawrence has also being scheduled. Game tomorrow kicks off at 11 o' clock.
